When a director travels to Mexico City, his family engages him to direct a documentary about his grandfather who lived in Mexico. However, he is reluctant since he wants to direct his own film covering his own experience and vision of Mexico. But the more he approaches the country and its people, the more the history of his deceased grandfather comes back to him.

director biography

Michael Fetter Nathansky was born in Cologne in 1993. He spent his youth in Germany and Spain. Since October 2013 he studies Directing at the Film University KONRAD WOLF Babelsberg. His graduation film GABI premiered at the 67th Berlinale in the section Perspektive Deutsches Kino and won the German short film prize 2017. On top of that, in the same year Michael was nominated for the young talents prize (Nachwuchspreis) of Studio Hamburg as well as he won the young talents prize of federal state North Rhine-Westphalia. 2018 he founded together with Virginia Martin and Anna-Sophie Philippi the production company Contando Films.
