Julien Gaspar-Oliveri was raised in Antibes – South of France. He studied theater at the prestigious Conservatoire National Supérieur d’Art Dramatique de Paris (the most competitive French theater school). Since he graduated, he has been working as an actor as well as a theater and a film director. As a comedian, he played under the direction of Dominique Czapski, Didier Bezace, Jean Bellorini. Associate artist at the théâtre Antibéa, he staged there plays from Tchekhov and Jean-Luc Lagarce. He then began directing films with an autoproduced short film, "Loin de Benjamin", followed by the short "Passe", with up-and-coming actress Laure Calamy, then the medium length film "Villeperdue". The latter had a theatrical release in 2017, received a great acclaim from the critic, was screened at various festivals and was awarded the jury as well at the public prizes at the international Namur festival. Julien also teaches theater and cinema at the renowned acting school Cours Florent. He is now working on various projects, including a feature film selected at the Ateliers d’Angers residency. "Tender Age", his last film, will be broadcasted on Arte in 2020.
