Educational Programs Manager
Job Title: Educational Programs Manager

Job Overview:
The Educational Programs Manager will be responsible for developing, managing, and executing the educational initiatives of the organization. This role is key to expanding and enhancing the reach of our educational programs, collaborating with schools, community organizations, filmmakers, and educators. The manager will work closely with the programming team to ensure that educational programs align with the organization's mission of promoting the art and science of film through education and cross-cultural awareness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development: Design and implement educational programs and workshops that support the organization's mission and goals.
- Partnerships & Outreach: Build and maintain relationships with educational institutions, community organizations, and industry professionals to enhance programming and create new opportunities.
- Event Coordination: Oversee the planning and execution of educational events such as filmmaker Q&As, panel discussions, workshops, school screenings, and classes.
- Curriculum Design: Develop curricula and resources that complement films, ensuring they are engaging, accessible, and educational.
- Budget & Resource Management: Manage the educational program budget, ensuring efficient use of resources while meeting program objectives. Work closely with the grant writer, and development team, to identify funding opportunities and support the preparation of grant proposals to secure funding for educational initiatives.
- Marketing & Promotion: Work with the marketing team to promote educational programs to target audiences, including schools, teachers, students, and community groups.
- Evaluation & Reporting: Track the effectiveness and impact of educational programs, gathering feedback, and making recommendations for improvements. Prepare regular reports for senior leadership.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the programming, marketing, and outreach teams to ensure smooth execution and integration of educational programming within the overall organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Film Studies, Communications, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing educational programs or events, ideally within the film or arts sector.
- Strong understanding of film as an educational tool and a passion for promoting film literacy.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
- Experience with budget management and resource allocation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Knowledge of current trends in education, community outreach, and film.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in curriculum development and designing educational materials.
Work Environment:
This position may require some evening and weekend work in coordination with events and programs. Travel to various educational institutions and community organizations will also be required.
Hours
40 hours a week, extended hours during busy programming staging periods. Must be available to work in person. Some evening and weekend work required.

Box Office Supervisor
Title: Box Office Supervisor
Department: Box Office
Reports to: Managing Director & Operations Manager
Dates: June 9 - July 3, 2025 (part-time/full-time)
Pay: $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 18 – 40 per week
Job Summary
The Box Office Supervisor has an integral role within the box office team at the Festival, providing supervision of the box office - overseeing cashiers and scanning team - and being in close communication with the Venue Coordinators.
The Box Office Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the cashier/scanning team on a day-to-day basis, ensuring that they are kept up to date with internal communications, and maximizing box office sales through effective customer service, supervision, and training of the box office staff.
Reporting relationships: Reports to the Managing Director and Operations Manager. This position works with box office staff including cashiers & scanners, customers and venue managers, and other festival staff.
Staff Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure, through effective supervision, that an excellent Box Office/Reception service is provided to all customers.
- Act as a liaison between box office cashiers, Venue Coordinators, and Operations.
- Interact positively and communicate effectively with all box office volunteers & venue staff.
- Liaise with the Operations Manager/Managing Director and Venue Managers regarding any special requirements for the box office, including additional coverage for special events.
- Keep box office team informed of developments, planned activities, and events.
- Supervise and train Box Office volunteer team.
Administrative
- Ensure box office volunteers signs in.
- Data entry and updating (where appropriate) onto the box office system.
- Help keep an accurate and timely flow of the show and general venue information interdepartmentally and to the general public.
- Ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the box office.
- Make sure that cashiers deliver excellent customer service.
- Support box office team with the effective use of Elevent.
- Assist with training new box office volunteers on the job
- Remain fully informed about the Festival program and upcoming events.
- Assist Box Office team with customer complaints, as and when required.
- Provide ongoing training to the box office team concerning Elevent sales and scanning, and other relevant areas of training.
